(.pdf)
What the Brochure Is About
The brochure provides an overview of the results of scientific research carried out over the past 30 years (from 1995 to 2024) by scientists from medical and technological institutions in the Russian Federation, including joint studies with researchers from several foreign countries and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, on the topic “Chrysotile and Health”.
All the studies were conducted directly in Russia, including at facilities producing chrysotile and chrysotile‑containing products..
Purpose of the Publication
The author was motivated to write this review to draw the attention of specialists in the construction industry, scientific and educational institutions, and the general public to the findings of Russian scientific research — which differ markedly from the postulates promoted in Western countries regarding the hazards of using chrysotile.
The publication is also intended for a wide range of readers interested in the safe use of chrysotile asbestos (hereinafter referred to as “chrysotile”) and materials and products containing it.
