In the process of chrysotile asbestos mining and dressing, two types of industrial waste are produced: overburden rocks and asbestos ore dry-dressing waste.

Overburden rocks and the dressing waste of the Bazhenovskoye deposit chrysotile asbestos presents a mixture of chemically inactive siliceous minerals (diorites, gabbro, peridotites and serpentinites).

These minerals are used as raw materials for manufacture of a broad range of construction materials.

As found by the Medical Research Center for diseases prophylaxis and industrial workers' health protection (Yekaterinburg), overburden rocks and dressing waste of the "Uralasbest" Plant belong to non-toxic, off-hazard category type of industrial waste without mutafacient effect, presenting no potential hazard in the future. Natural radioactivity of asbestos and parent rocks is dozens of times below the minimum admissible level for class 1 construction materials.

What is more, asbestos bearing rocks display radiation-protection properties and present radiation-comfortable materials.

All types of construction materials manufactured by the plant have sanitary-epidemic safety certificates; crushed stone from dense rocks and crushed stone-sand mixes have compliance certificates.
